Planning your journey

You may want to think about Foreign Currency and Travel Insurance before you travel. With our P&O Ferries' reserve and collect service, not only will you avoid a commission charge by reserving online, but you'll also avoid the queues! Simply order online and collect on the ship from our Bureau de Change during your crossing.
Our overnight Hull to Rotterdam crossings are 12hrs, so after an evening of exploring the ship, you'll head off to your cabin for a restful sleep and arrive at your destination refreshed and ready to go in the morning. Plus, with no luggage limits, you can pack as much or as little as you like – perfect for a family trip.
Be advised that disembarkation starts approximately 15min after arrival time. Please be aware of this when planning your onward journey
Choosing your ticket type
We have three ticket types available to choose from on our Hull to Rotterdam route, to allow you to tailor your trip to your own travel needs! These are listed below.

Standard - our cheapest non-refundable ticket. Travel as booked, simply book and go. Cancellation and Amendment fees apply.

Standard Flexi - our best value flexible ticket type with no amendment fees* if you miss your sailing, just pay the difference in ticket price.

Fully Flexi - our most flexible ticket. For complete peace of mind and total flexibility, our Fully Flexi ticket is fully refundable and you can travel on any departure time that suits you (subject to availability).

Check-In Times
Hull to Rotterdam
Check-In opens at 3pm at Hull Port, with embarkation beginning at 5pm.
Check-In closes 90 minutes before departure time for all.
Rotterdam to Hull
Check-In opens at 4pm at Europoort, with embarkation beginning at 5pm.
Check-In closes 90 minutes before departure time for all.
You must ensure you arrive BEFORE these cut off times. All times are shown in local time.
Please be advised these are the latest times you can arrive at Check-In AFTER security. Therefore, we encourage you to allow for plenty of time to pass through security checks and allow for busy traffic during peak periods when arriving to our Ferries to Holland .
Port Parking
Parking at the port
There is parking available at the port of Hull should you need to park a vehicle before your crossing. Parking can be paid for using the Ringo app, or calling Ringo on 020 3046 0060, quoting location code 2315. Any vehicle parked without a ticket will be fined.Travelling with a vehicle
Travelling with a vehicle is easy when you choose to sail with P&O Ferries on our Hull to Rotterdam route, you can choose to travel in your car, on your bicycle, motorbike or even take the caravan or motorhome – giving you the flexibility to create your perfect holiday, along with taking everything you need with you for your adventure!

Travelling on foot
Did you know you can travel on our Hull to Rotterdam ferries even if you don’t have a vehicle? Simply select Foot Passenger during the booking process. We've put together a few helpful tips below, however please visit our dedicated foot passenger page for more information.
Whether you’re planning to hire a car upon arrival at your destination or hopping on a coach transfer, you can simply make a booking as a foot passenger and avoid all the hassle of driving in a different country.
If you’re travelling on foot or taking one of our Mini Cruises, you must check-in 90 minutes before departure.
Plan ahead
The Europoort Ferry Terminal is 24 miles from the centre of Rotterdam, therefore is not within walking distance.
Please note there is no public transport to or from the terminal at Europoort. Coach transfers can be booked online during the booking process and are available from Europoort to Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
Travelling with a bicycle
Getting around on two wheels offers you the freedom of living like a local when you arrive at your destination.
Whether you’re bringing bicycles with a vehicle or simply booking to travel as a foot passenger, find out everything you need to know about travelling with a bicycle here.
Passengers travelling with bicycles should check-in no later than 90 minutes prior to the sailing time.
Travelling with pets
No need to leave your furry friends behind – they can come on holiday too when you travel with P&O Ferries.
It costs £22 per pet each way to travel on the Hull to Rotterdam route, with registered Guide and Hearing Dogs travelling free of charge. We accept dogs, cats and ferrets.
When travelling on our Hull to Rotterdam route you have the option to book a air conditioned kennel for your pet or, if travelling with a dog, you can choose to travel in one of our Dog Friendly cabins. Under no circumstances are pets allowed to remain in vehicles during the overnight crossing.
